Norah Casey to step down from Newstalk

Norah Casey is leaving her weekly show MindFeed on Newstalk to concentrate on some new projects for the autumn including her new RTE landmark series working with women in the travelling community and to complete her book Spark! which will be published by Penguin Ireland.

After a spell with Newstalk’s Breakfast Show with Chris Donoghue she moved to a weekend programme slot with MindFeed on Sunday mornings last September.

Norah Casey commented: “I have really enjoyed my time at Newstalk and I will miss the team but I am working on some really exciting projects and they need a lot of time and energy. I will return to radio in the future – it’s a medium I love and of course I have some new ideas that I would like to explore in that space also!

I have been taking time out in July to do some travel writing which was my first love and I want to explore some new places in 2015 and have the time to tick off some of my bucket list”.

Newstalk CEO Gerard Whelan commented, ‘Norah Casey has been an important part of Newstalk programming in the last two years, beginning on the Breakfast Show, then moving onto the weekend with her programme Mindfeed. We wish her every success with her new ventures and all the best for the future’.

Norah is also working with Harmonia on some significant publishing projects and events during August including hosting the hugely successful Restaurant of the Year Awards on August 17th and the Ultimate Girls Day Out weekend at the RDS from August 22nd – 24th.  She stood down as CEO of Harmonia last October and her brother Ciaran Casey is now the CEO of the business and she is the Chairwoman.
